Pandemic Christmas Alone 🎄 in Munich Germany 🇩🇪 2021-2022 [4K]

Munich's famous Münchner Christkindlmarkt rund um den Marienplatz (Christmas Market on Marienplatz) dates back to 1642. It is celebrated in the heart of the altstadt (Old Town) with a 100-feet high Christmas tree that towers over traditionally decorated booths.


You can warm your hands and your heart with mulled wine or feuerzangenbowle and lebkuchen (gingerbread), or buy gifts like Bavarian woodcarvings, handmade toys, and ornate ornaments. Although due to the tense coronavirus situation, the original Munich Christkindlmarkt 2021 has been canceled. This was announced by Mayor Dieter Reiter on 16th November, following consultations with the crisis team for extraordinary events. The Christkindlmarkt would have taken place from 22nd November to 24th December 2021. Even though so, there's still a small Christmas Market that Is open near the plaza, it may not be the biggest, but it was still nice to walk around.
