Decoration & Design Building Spring Market May 15th 2013
Tuesday, May 14, 2013It’s that time of year again, when the fantastic showrooms in the Decoration & Design Building open up their doors to show off the latest and greatest in the design world. This month Wed 5/15, the building will host hundreds of guests (designers, media, industry professionals) in their one day event. The event is open to publics, to learn more about what's happening in the design industry, make sure you stop by at DDB
10:30 AM, Suite 1202: Brunschwig & Fils and Michael S Smith invite you to the launch of his new book, Building Beauty: The Alchemy of Design.
12:00 PM, Suite 1005: Join Baccarat for the “Setting the Mood: The Power of Light” panel, moderated by Sophie Donelson of Editor at Large and featuring designers Geoffrey Bradfield, Shawn Henderson, and Thom Forsyth of the Rockwell Group.
12:00 PM, Suite 1507: Baroncelli invites you to celebrate Spring, introducing the new Arbor lighting series and hosting a special discussion with landscape designers Christian Duvernois and Jacob Lange.
1:00 PM, Suite 205: Clarence House introduces its new Hill Brown fabric collection, designed by Donna May Woods.
2:00 PM, Suite 501: Designers Ally Coulter, Kati Curtis, and Alexander Gorlin will be joining the "Game Change: Evolution in the Luxury Design Market" discussion between Dakota Jackson and The Wall Street Journal’s Julie Iovine in the Dakota Jackson showroom.
2:00 PM, Suite 1511: Vaughan's "Residential Lighting in the Midst of a Lighting Revolution" presentation by Charles Pavarini III has been postponed until a later date in June. Please feel free to stop by the showroom for refreshments and to see its new collection of swing arm wall lights.
2:00 PM, Astra, 14th Floor: Join Rug-Art and designer Sigal Sasson for the introduction of its Spring 2013 collection, a presentation illustrating the design process from idea to a finished rug, and a chance to win a Rug-Art original.
3:00 PM, Suite 922: Maya Romanoff will be holding a live drawing to win $500 toward any Maya Romanoff product. On the days leading up to Spring Market, you can enter the drawing at the Maya Romanoff Showroom. Stop by at 3:00 pm on May 15 for Prosecco, light bites, and most importantly, the live drawing! Please note, you must be present to win.
5:00 PM, Suite 700: Join Donghia Creative Director Chuck Chewning for an intriguing talk on Angelo Donghia's legacy in the Donghia showroom, followed by Drinks at Donghia to celebrate the launch of Donghia: The New Legacy,” an innovative collection of furniture and lighting, and the renovation of its New York flagship showroom.
6:00 to 8:00 PM, Suite 1203: The HC&G Holiday House Hamptons Kickoff Party will take place in the Warp & Weft showroom.
Open House: Holiday House Hamptons will be holding an open house in the Designer Lounge on the 14th Floor, which will be redesigned for the occasion by Ally Coulter of Ally Coulter Designs. Be sure to drop off your business card to be entered into the raffle for two tickets to the Holiday House Hamptons Opening Night White Party Gala in Bridgehampton, NY. The drawing will take place at the HC&G Holiday House Kickoff Party at Warp & Weft, Suite 1203, which is scheduled from 6 to 8 pm.
Multi-Showroom Raffle: Be sure to enter for your chance to win a half-day package at the Peninsula Spa, including a facial, massage, lunch, and parting gift. Throughout the day on May 15, visit each of the seven participating showrooms—Avery Boardman (Suite 414), Pollack (Suite 1722), JAB Anstoetz (Suite 102), The Silver Peacock (Suite 1208), Nella Vetrina (Suite 814), Classic Rug Collection (Suite 1805), and Crestron (Suite 407)—to get your entry card stamped by each showroom. Drop your completed card into one of the bowls before you leave (there will be one in each of the participating showrooms), and you'll automatically enter into a drawing to win.
